Basic Home Cures That Have Been Proven to Work

Going to the doctor seriously isn't anybody's idea of enjoyment. There are typically long waits required both in the waiting room then once more in the exam room. Nobody truly wishes to handle the expensive co-pays or a doctor who never remembers your name unless he or she is looking at your chart. That said, there isn't any serious replacement for a doctor's advice when you need to make major medical decisions. When you have to manage a serious illness, it's really important that you talk to your doctor. If the issue is small, though, there are likely quite a few solutions already in your home. Here are a lot of the most common and most successful home remedies out there.

When you are feeling queasy or sick to your stomach, try consuming a little bit of ginger. Most sorts of nausea can be helped by eating ginger: morning sickness, motion sickness and even sometimes the nausea that is brought on by chemotherapy when you are fighting cancer. If you don't have easy access to pure ginger root, you'll be able to take ginger root capsules. The 250 mg ginger root supplements are what get suggested the most often for people who have a hard time affording regular ginger root.

Do you suffer from raised blood pressure levels? Try consuming a few pieces of chocolate and relaxing to some tunes. Dark chocolate is specifically healthy because it is packed with antioxidants which will help you expand your blood vessels which makes it easier for the blood to pass in your system which helps to lower your blood pressure. For your music pick out a little something that features a relaxed tone and is repetitive. You can help yourself a lot more through some slow breaths. Just a single ounce of chocolate and a quarter hour of playing slower and repetitive music like Indian, Celtic and Classical can do so much for your overall emotional state.

If you have problems with menstrual cramps, try using some heat to your abdomen and also lower back. Believe it or not this old "use a heating pad or maybe a hot water bottle" old wives' take really works! If you do not have the time to lie down with a hot water bottle, the heated adhesive patches work effectively too. These patches will remain heated for as long as eight hours and have been shown to be equally effective as taking medicines like Advil or Tylenol for the pain (and this way you do not have to worry about any sort of after effects of the pain meds on your system).

Aroma therapy will work for stress. Studies have shown that the floral scented compound labeled linalool can do a lot to help you lower your stress levels. So, if you are feeling stressed out, try taking some time to smell some fresh citrus fruit (oranges, lemons, mangoes and grapes) or some basil or lavender. Thats plenty cheaper than a visit to the doctors office!

Obviously, none of this advice is supposed to replace advice given to you by your physician and if any of these problems are happening to you regularly, a visit to the doctor's office should be put on your to-do list. For lesser troubles, however, once in a while those great home remedies actually get the job done!
