What if there was no failure?

They key to taking consistent action is to not try and overcome your fears but to embrace them. One of the most empowering beliefs you can adopt to assist you in becoming more action minded, is to realize that there are no failures, only results. Every action will produce a result and you are the judge and jury as to what that result means. Thomas Edison was the master of this belief. He “failed” more than a thousand times in trying to invent an electric light bulb. He just never saw any of his experiments as failures, but merely saw them as stepping stones; as a series of results that he had to learn from. He trusted that if he kept on going he will eventually achieve the desired result. Although he was ridiculed by all his peers he had persistence and knew that he cannot fail as long as he keeps taking action.

Success or failure is never based on the outcome of the situation but rather on your beliefs about what constitutes success or failure. If there are no failures what would you attempt that you feared in the past? If you had the belief that there are no failures but only results what would you attempt to do? The number one reason why people fail is not because of ability, talent or resources; but because they never even take the first step. They are immobilized by their fear of failing and looking bad. The Universe Rewards Action

Knowing what to do is rarely the reason why people don’t take the necessary action to produce the results they desire.  Most people know what to do, or at least how to find out what to do in order to make their lives work and have the success they desire. It is not knowing what to do but doing what you know that will most often make the real difference.

There are two very effective ideas that you can adopt and apply in your life right now to help you take action and produce real and measurable results. Firstly, realize that there are no failures, only outcomes. Action, and only action will produce results. Your fears are all made up and often based on other people’s perception of success and failure. Don’t try and fight against your fears, but use it and embrace it as a map or a guide for personal growth. Everything you want is on the other side of fear. When your fear is keeping you from taking action on some idea you should know that the rewards will come from using the fear as a call to take action, despite not feeling “comfortable” doing it. When you take action despite your fears you have to stretch yourself to do something that you previously could not do. Now you’ve grown in your capability to comfortably deal with it. Most of what we fear is based on not knowing the outcome; of feeling uncertain.

When you use fear to grow as a person you use fear like dumbbells to build your emotional muscle. So many books and teachers these days try and tell you how to overcome fear. Why? Fear is your friend and like any friend it only serves you if you treat it well. Trying to overcome it will leave you trying and not getting anywhere. Fear is a normal part of life and like all your emotions it serves a very important purpose in guiding your actions. When you use it you are guided in all your ways. If you ignore it you will be misguided and if you fight it you will always loose.

Don’t try and get everything right.  Just get it started. So often we try to have everything perfect before we even attempt it and all too often we end up never even doing it. Getting it started is far more important as it builds momentum. Action breeds more action. Success is not a single cataclysmic event but rather a series of small successes each leading to and building on each other. Every action you take will produce a result and if you use that result as guidance for taking the next step you will eventually reach your destination.

Easy does it, doesn't it?

One of the major reasons why most people never achieve great is because they fail to even start. If you want to achieve something great the thought of it is often so overwhelming that most people never attempt it. They made it way too big in their heads, because if you think about it every great achievement happens by taking the first step and then taking a series of smaller steps. Neither success (nor failure) is a single cataclysmic event.
 
When you set out to accomplish something that seems “big” there is one essential skill you need to learn and that is to master the art of chunking things down. No matter how big the task you can always break it down into smaller “bitesized” tasks. Smaller tasks are less overwhelming and more believable and therefore you are more likely to take action.
 
Feeling overwhelmed by the “size” of the task is almost always imagined – you make the task out to be too difficult or too big. Whenever anything is “too” you should realize three things and act on it: Firstly you are making it up as nothing can be too – trust that you always have the ability to deal with anything that comes across your path. Secondly whenever you perceive anything as "too" you should know that it is only your perception – you are controlling and directing (or misdirecting) your focusing in such a way that you feel overwhelmed. Your focus equals your reality. Focus on that which you can control. Thirdly, Chunk it down – break the too up into smaller tasks that is not too. Just do something that you feel you can comfortably do and by doing this you will build momentum.
 
You do not have to see the whole staircase, you just need to see the next step! If you want to drive a thousand miles at night you won’t see the destination and your headlights only allow you to see a hundred yards in front of you. If you keep focusing in front of you and what you can see you will eventually be able to travel great distances. This is also very true for your life and it will empower you to make great journeys. Just take that first step and next one will unfold and become “visible” as you move forward and take the next and the next until you wake up one day to look back on a mighty mountain that you climbed without even noticing. A world famous mountaineer was once asked “how do you do it?” his answer was profound: “step by step!”

Are you living your life or still thinking about it?

One of the biggest challenges with procrastination is that it makes you feel out of control. When you feel like life is controlling you, you will inevitable face some tough challenges in all areas of your life. You will have problems within yourself that you will find increasingly difficult to handle effectively. Procrastination is like weeds in your garden. At first you barely notice them until you wake up one morning to find that the weeds have taken your garden. Without an effective strategy to face procrastination head on and "kill" it while it's little, you will eventually have a lot more to deal with.

By developing your ability to take action; to "just do it" you develop your ability to make things happen. Successful people do things a certain way and they have a specific psychology that causes them to act almost instinctively. It is not your conditions that will determine the quality of your life, but rather your decisions about what things mean and what you need to do about it. Procrastinating and postponing will leave you stranded in a life of mediocrity where you are not all that you can be. A life where you are not truly fulfilled.

Whether you are procrastinating on big life decisions or on small annoying tasks, there is a strategy that will help you to eliminate procrastination. By learning and adopting the right psychology you will empower yourself to make the necessary changes. By discovering the cause of your behaviour you can change it and tap into your unconscious system that controls all your automatic "responses." Designing your Future Today

Designing your life is actually a perfect analogy for the way our lives “become.” The psychology of becoming states that we are always in a process of moving towards the picture we have of ourselves. All of design is a process and as human beings we design by re-organizing stuff that is. We can never really “create” – we merely take what is and arrange it in such a way that we make something “new.” Design is the process of creating; of using your resources (mind, emotion, time, energy ec.) and forming something. To experience this creation we make physical stuff that you can touch and feel. We all have this inherent drive to engage all our senses to truly enjoy something. When you manifest this desire you create by designing – you take a desire ( becomes an idea ( get emotional ( take action ( get a result or ( result is either physical or leads to another idea that takes you closer to your vision.

The main difference between a phenomenal success and an average Joe comes down to focus. It’s true that you can change your mind/goals as often as you like but that is what makes an for a mediocre life (life that is less than your potential). Controlling and directing your mind and focus on a single definite purpose is step one in achieving any goal (Napoleon Hill explains this very well).

All of creation is actually by design. Manifesting/creating anything is always from “thought” to “thing” and it is fuelled by emotion. When you take an idea and are moved by it you take action and you create a result. It always starts with an idea, but in our limited capacity to fully comprehend the complexity of life as a whole we only “see” things partially and have to create in a process where ideas unfold. This almost always require of you to make adjustments – the best way from A to B is not necessarily the quickest way. Any goal we pursue is not about the actual goal but more about the person you become. This is why so many self made millionaires can make another million when they go bankrupt, but a lottery winner end up dead or dead broke within 3 years.

It’s never about getting “things” anyway. What we are actually after are the feelings/emotions that we think we will get from it. Being clear on what you really want will enrich your experience of life greatly. You’ll stop pursuing “things” but start pursuing emotions and qualities that you want as a person. These things are eternal; that what you become as a person can never be taken from you and is the real “purpose” of life. To become something an not to collect things. This will give you fulfilment which is one of the most amazing human emotions.

Overcome procrastination, take action and create results. Talk is cheap and remains a dream until you take action. "One day" usually never comes. Action makes your desires real. Procrastination keeps your potential locked up and prevents you from designing the destiny of your choosing. You get to choose between a life of choice or a life of chance. What's it going to be?

Thoughts to Action - Creating your world

The process of all creation is founded in thought. You are who and where you are because of your consistent thoughts for it creates your reality. One of the most inspirational books on thinking and the effect of your thoughts still is James Allen's classic As a man thinketh. Although it's less scientific (written in 1900's), it gives a wonderful insight into the power and effect of thought. "As a man Thinketh so he is...In the armory of thought man has made or unmade himself."

Everybody keeps saying that you must think positively, but how? The problem with positive thinking is that you have to think about it. Thinking is nothing but the process of asking and answering questions in your mind. It is our unique ability as humans to "reason." But, for most this is their own worse enemy. You can take conscious control of your thoughts by taking control of the questions you ask yourself. By habitually asking empowering questions you become a "positive thinker"

Thinking is also vitally important in controlling and directing the focus of your mind. Your focus or concentration is effectively your focus. Visualization is important because your mind thinks in images. We all visualize whether we know it or not and we use words to communicate with ourselves. These words or internal conversations help "build" the images that is thought. With visualization we think things into being - our consistent thoughts implanted into the reticular activating system of the brain which is designed to screen what we pay attention to. The average human being thinks more than 69 000 thoughts a day. The problem is that 90% of these thoughts are the same as yesterday - we have habitual thoughts that either empower or disempowering us. Be daring in your thinking and grow in your thoughts.

Be careful who and what you surround yourself with as it greatly effects not just what you think about but also how you think about (your) life. Acting on your thought is often hard to do, but it is exactly that way by design. That resistance is what you need to grow as a person to grow in your thinking and your capacity to create. You grow your "emotional muscle" when you act on the things that feels uncomfortable. The quality of your life is in direct proportion to the amount of discomfort you can comfortably deal with. You grow when you go from awkward to natural. A thought without an action do not produce a result, but it will inspire all your actions.

Only action create results. Procrastination will keep you from doing the very things that will give you an extraordinary quality of life. Taking conscious control of your thinking will empower you to push past apparent obstacles and by installing habitual patterns of thinking about your life and yourself will crumble procrastination and drive you to action and action is what create results.

The Root Cause For Procrastination

Why is it that we as human beings often behave in ways that we don't really want to? How often have you said or done something only to cringe at the thought of it afterwards? The truth is that your behaviour is mostly driven by your unconscious mind, especially behaviours that is hard to explain from an intellectual point of view. Procrastination is knowing what to do, having the ability and desire to do it, but still you don't do it. Although there are many apparent causes for procrastination, the root cause for this illogical behaviour is in your unconscious mind.

Your conscious mind is very limited in its ability to deal with life. That over which you have conscious control is mostly limited to one thing at a time. This is why using your willpower to create any real change rarely works long term. What you need to do is to change your unconscious or automatic behaviour which resides in your unconscious mind, that part of you that controls all the vital function of your body and mind. You can try and overcome procrastination by using willpower but it will usually be a short term change. The cause for procrastination is not your conscious actions, but your unconscious associations that is to a large extent responsible for your behaviour.

Your nervous system is designed to preserve you and when fear presents itself your nervous system, through the working of your sub-conscious, will "kick in" to "protect you. The ironic thing is that we teach ourselves to fear certain things by making false associations to life experience. You literally create neurological links to experiences that gets "stored" in your nervous system so that you can act quickly and accordingly next time. Can you overcome procrastination?

In this day and age we are so inundated with choice and opportunity that you might even say that we are spoiled for choice.  There is just so much that we could do that we often end up not doing anything at all. Procrastination is one of the biggest dream killers. In a world where there is so much demand on your attention it is becoming ever more difficult to stay focussed and act on the things that would truly give you an extraordinary quality of life. How to Define Motivation

A major cause for procrastination is a lack of motivation. But, what is motivation really? There are basically two ways of looking at motivation: Motivation can be a feeling or an emotion and when you feel motivated you are in a resourceful state where. When you feel motivated your mind and emotions are used in a ways that move you towards a specific goal. Most people procrastinate because they don’t “feel” like doing it. The way you feel depends largely on how you control and direct the focus of your mind. Although your environment plays an important part in triggering certain emotions, you are ultimately in control of your emotional states.
Motivation is nothing but a “motive” for action; a reason that gives purpose and direction to your behaviour. When you become aware of and choose consciously your purpose or reason for doing something and taking action, then you create internal motivation. External motivation then, is when something in your environment triggers a motive or a reason for taking action.
When you see someone do something extraordinary it might trigger the desire within you to do the same and you will feel motivated. We all experience this daily with movies, music, theatre and books. These are all very good sources of motivation. Even if it is just to help you feel good.
But all that can be short lived if you don't find your real drive and purpose. This is what I call internal motivation which is a deep emotional and spiritual drive that outlives distractions, disappointments and failures. You develop internal motivation by finding your real reason or purpose for doing something. Knowing what motivates you externally will help you find and define this internal drive. Your motive or reason for taking action will create within you a need that must be fulfilled. It creates a hunger that will push you until.
Think of any great success in any area of life and you will find that their inner drive, hunger and sense of purpose propelled them past setbacks and disappointments. You too can achieve extraordinary things, but you will need the motivation if you are to persevere. Find your passion by thinking deeply on what you love and what you hate for that is what moves you.

Procrastination and Fear

There are many possible reasons why you procrastinate, some of them more legit than others. The very nature of procrastination is so ironic and one of those paradoxes in life. So many people know what to do to make their lives works but they simply don't do it. There is a very important distinction in life that separates a memorable life from a mediocre one: there is a big difference between knowing of something and doing that something. It is only when you act, when you do it where you engage those parts of you that make something apart of your very make up, that you get to live it. So many people talk a great game, but they don't live it. Talk is cheap.

If you think about it; we judge people by their behaviours. We seldom judge someone by his or her words. We want to see them do it, otherwise we will judge them by the fact that they are only "talking big" and that they don't practise what they preach. The surprising fact to most people is that you use the same system of judgement that you use to judge others for yourself. Subconsciously you judge yourself by your actions and not your words. You judge yourself by what you do and not what you say you will do. Doing what you know and say to yourself makes you congruent – it means that your unconscious mind are given the same "message" both verbally and physically by your actions.

Actions do speak louder than words. We as human beings want to experience things – knowing of something just aren't good enough. It is the experience of life; of feeling it in your nervous system that makes it real and it is that experience that your spirit is searching for. When you procrastinate you almost go against your very nature of wanting to experience something. The critical distinction however is that procrastination is a form of self preservation. The reason why you procrastinate is because of fear (even if it is subconscious) and you are designed to react to fear in such a way to ensure your survival. Fear is a signal to your mind, your body and your emotions to be prepared for a threat and to be ready to protect yourself.

Weather a fear is physical/external or weather it is unconscious and emotional your will act and react in a similar way. This is an instinctive reaction and preparation as your number one priority as a human being is to protect yourself and ensure your survival.

The reason why so many people stay stuck in life is because of fear of the unknown. Whenever you approach something that you've never done before you automatically fear it because you don't know what it will lead to. Will it lead to pain or pleasure? Your mind will then search your memory bank to look for similar experience and then come up with something based on your past experience and filter them through your beliefs to determine the best course of action for you. All emotional fear therefore is "imaginary" as it comes from your mind and not from actual reality. It is created and constructed in your mind and not from real life.

How are you Communicating

I would like to share a very inspiring, motivating and life changing idea that had/has an immense influence on my life and the people around me.

The way you communicate to yourself is probably the most important thing you do all day long. See, whenever something happens you have to communicate it to yourself and it is in this communication that you create the meaning of your experience. If you communicate your experience as being a problem the corresponding feeling would be that of worry and stress.

You are the shaper and maker of meaning and feeling. Nothing your life has any meaning except the meaning you give it and the way you give it meaning relies on your communication within yourself. If you communicate something poorly then the understanding of what you are communicating is usually very vague. The reason why people feel crap on a daily basis is their lack of communication.

The real difference in how people feel comes down to their communication. If you want to change how you feel you can change it instantaneously by just changing the words you choose to describe the situation, For example if you say "I am ok" it creates the corresponding feeling of being "ok" - not a very useful feeling indeed. If you say I feel like sh** it would be even worse, but what if you said I am fantastic you will actually feel fantastic.

If this sounds like mumbo jumbo, it isn't! Just try it and notice for yourself how your communication creates your emotions. Every feeling you have is created by you and is the result of how you communicate the circumstances of your life.

Death to FEAR

In order for us to change the things that we are unhappy with in our lives we have to change the way that we think. If we never change the way that we think we will continue to get the same results in our lives. In order for us to see changes in our lives we have to face our worst enemy and that is FEAR (really ourselves)

About 90% of people live their lives in fear and never become the person that they dream of becoming. This simply happens because they just fail to take action. They FEAR what they don't understand. We have to look at FEAR as nothing more then a word or as a learning process. Did you ever know what FEAR was when you were a young child? Probably not, at least until someone that you trusted or looked up to told you what it was. Mankind has simply connected a word to a feeling, giving it life and in turn making people fear it. Mark Twain said it best with this quote, "Do the things that you FEAR most and the DEATH to FEAR is certain." You owe it to yourself to understand this principle.

To conquer fear start by accomplishing the things that you fear the most. After doing so, you will look back and think how foolish it was to be afraid in the first place.

Learn to leave your comfort zone. When we leave our comfort zone we become a more rounded individual. When we do the things that we fear and look back at them afterwards, we see that what we feared has now turned into part of our comfort zone. This simply happens because we do not fear these things after accomplishing them in the past. The next time similar situations arise we will no longer stress over it, we will just do it.

We must set our minds on always conquering the unknown. Always "think outside the box". Look fear in the eyes and just do the task. Chances are that you will succeed and soon come to find out that FEAR is nothing more then a word. Every successful businessperson has undoubtedly faced fear many times, yet they have succeeded in their business. So can you!
Think back to when you were a child. Most of us have limitations put on our lives very early. We are taught how to think, what schools to attend, how to make a living, and finally, even how to plan our retirement. Most of us end up fearing anything that is different than what we are taught.
Once we understand and can change some of the beliefs that have been programmed into us by society, we can more fully take control of our lives and our destiny through the power of positive thought. You to can become successful in any aspect of your life that you choose. You just have to get past one thing, YOURSELF!

When you do this you will start to become the person that you have always dreamed about. Today is the day you are going to take what is rightfully yours. It's called LIFE! We are here to enjoy every aspect of life, not just to be a part of it.

The 80 - 20 rule

Do you want to learn how to maximize your time so that most, if not all of your results, will come from the smallest amount of effort? Then allow me to introduce you to the 80-20 rule.

The 80-20 rule simply states that in any area of our lives, literally 80 percent of our fruits are derived from only 20 percent of doing “what matters”. In other words, there is only a very small portion of all that we do each day, regardless of the situation, that brings us the “higher return” so to speak.

Most people have been programmed from birth to constantly be spending most of their efforts on unproductive activities. They get frantically involved in a lot of stuff without ever really getting around to thinking about why they are involved in such activities. And it should not be a surprise that these people are constantly stressed out and deprived of time in their lives.

You need to control your focus. Employ your energy on the actions and tasks that matter to you. Having compelling goals or a definite major purpose (as Napoleon Hill calls it) will vastly improve your ability to focus your energy and your efforts.

Second, you must understand that anything that matters the most should never be at the mercy of activities that matter the least. Because the probability is high that you are spending up to 80 percent of your time on low-priority activities, your next step is to reassess how much time you should be spending on those activities. In order to make maximum use of your time, you must work hard to do away with as many of these low-priority activities as possible.

Once you have cleared out the stuff that does not bring you the best returns, it is not time to turn your attention to the few things in your life that are bringing the most, and spend most of your time just on those few high-priority activities. The objective is to maximize results from the areas of great surpluses and to bail out of those activities that drain you of having your desires of making more money with less work.
